Recently I've been having a bad case of insomnia. I either can't sleep at all, or sleep very lightly for a few hours. It all started in my second year of University and picked up again when I was undergoing my cancer treatment. I would feel extremely tired but was never able to get a proper night's sleep. My mind was always on and running even though my body was exhausted; I just couldn't stop thinking.

Salt Lamps
The Himalayan pink salt lamp is a classic, and yes, it's the same type of pink salt that you can put in food. I actually have both a lamp and a candle, which you can see in my photo above. Soy Wax Candle with Lavender
You will never see a candle in my house that isn't made from bees, soy or coconut wax. Most candles are made from paraffin wax. Paraffin wax is used in more than 95% of candle making, mainly because it is very inexpensive. Paraffin is the leftover by-product of the petroleum refining process. This petroleum by-product can release the same harmful carcinogens into the atmosphere as your car produces when gasoline is burned.Natural wax candles are clean burning. They do not trigger allergies or have strong scents and can be combined with essential oils for pleasant aromatherapy. I try and buy candles that relax me with scents of lavender, champagne or earl grey. The wax burns cooler which means that your candles will last 30-50% longer, a.k.a you can save some money! I swear by my diffuser. It was the best purchase of my life and I will never be seen without one. I'm even thinking of getting a travel-sized one since I sleep so horribly while on vacation.
